We started this day by purchasing approximately 200 meters of hose, which will be used to ensure that our plants have access to water. As Quito is currently in its dry season, I wanted to ensure that the trees can survive until there is more rainfall. The water will come directly from a nearby stream, which means that it will not pollute the environment in any way with unknown chemicals; additionally, this has the additional benefit of irrigating the plants with water that is free from contamination.

Afterwards, we went to buy more trees, which were distributed as follows:

- 35 alders

-35 Acacias

Unfortunately, there were neither polylepis nor pumamaquis, but they guaranteed us that there would be some for next time. Including today, 250 trees have already been planted in the course of this project. As we had left over holes and the grass has already been trimmed, the planting process was significantly shorter than Day 2. Although there were fewer members present, it was possible to plant all the trees and additionally check that the previous ones were in good condition.

Duration: 5 hours

Trees Planted in Total: 250 trees
