Today, we went to pick up palms in the town of Sangolqui, which is relatively close to Sigsipamba. However, we were recommended not to plant these palms in Cayambe-Coca, since this species of palm is endemic to lower altitudes than the paramo area. For this reason, we decided to donate these 20 palms to another reforestation project in which I plan to participate, called "Reforestation Sendero de Cotocog".
After getting to Sigsipamba, we noticed that some of the trees we had planted were drying out. For this reason, we used the water from the nearby stream to water the plants. Additionally, we cut the grass around the plants from Day 3, and dug more holes for the next visit.
Before we left, we decided to find other places to plant trees. With this goal in mind, we walked until we found some other trails which would be optimal to continue this project.
Duration: 7 hours 30 minutes
Total Tree Count: 270 trees
