For this project, it was decided to plant trees exclusively endemic to the Cayambe-Coca National Park. This has two main purposes which are:
1. Ensure a beneficial coupling to the said environment, by having trees which are native to the habitat. With this, you can reforest without the risk of introducing species of trees which could harm the biodiversity actively present in the region.
2. Ensure that the tree species can grow fruitfully, so that this project has real results.
For these reasons, the types of trees that have been chosen for this project are the following: alders (Alnus acuminata), acacias (Fabaceae family), cedrillos (Tapirira guianensis), ajicillos (iochroma), polylepis (Rosaceae family) and pumamaquis ( Oreopanax ecuadorensis)
